The Library and its staff assist students in testing reading comprehension level using the Starr Reading assessment, and encourages reading with the Accelerated Reading Program. Beginning in first grade, students are assessed for their reading comprehension levels. Diagnostic Reports identify students in need of intervention based on various factors.
Twice during the school year, the MIS Library conducts a week long book fair offering current books at an appropriate reading level. Proceeds from these sales feed directly back into books and programs for the library.
